Environmental management
From early product design to manufacturing, right through to end-of-life disposal, every area in which we directly or indirectly affect the environment is under constant scrutiny.
All of our factories and most of our offices meet the ISO 14001 standard: a framework that sets out the requirements for environmental management systems. We are working to bring our facilities in line with company environmental policy, and we actively encourage environmental management and green awareness initiatives throughout our entire organisation.

Packaging & Distribution
We consider the environmental impact of all of our packaging, and design it in line with internal standards and applicable regulations. Not only are we reducing our total volume of packaging produced for our MFPs, but we’re also improving its recyclability. The impact of this can already be seen in our packaging reduction. We have already decreased plastic packaging across our latest multifunction printers (MFPs) by 17% and have only used cardboard packaging for our latest A3 range. Furthermore, packaging for all display products is designed to be 100% recyclable, where appropriate recycling infrastructure exists.
In addition, we are committed to reducing the volume of landfill waste by following regulations that govern packaging of materials and batteries. Laws related to the manufacturing and distribution of parts and materials used in our products and processes are strictly observed and complied with.

EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR)
The EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) is an EU-wide law designed to reduce packaging waste, increase recycling and support the transition to a circular economy. It introduces requirements covering the packaging life cycle, including design, manufacturing, use, collection, reuse, recycling and waste management.
Information regarding the relevant economic operators responsible for placing the packaging on the EU market is available via a QR code displayed on the packaging, in accordance with applicable European packaging legislation.
Sharp are responding to the PPWR regulations by working to reduce packaging material use where feasible, improve packaging recyclability, and consider circular economy principles in its product and packaging design processes.
