Sharp showcases 8K Monitor and AIoT Smart Home at CEATEC Japan 2016

Sharp is proud to be showing “IoT by Sharp - A New Way of Living” at CEATEC Japan 2016, the annual exhibition of CPS (Cyber-Physical Systems) and IoT (Internet of Things) technology. Discover what the future has in store...

CEATEC Japan 2016 is the annual exhibition of CPS (Cyber-Physical Systems) and IoT (Internet of Things) technology. This year it is being held between 4-7 October 2016 at the Makuhari Messe convention centre in Chiba City, Chiba Prefecture.

Sharp is proud to be hosting a stand at the show under the theme of “IoT by Sharp – A New Way of Living”.  The focus of which is Sharp’s application of AioT, a fusion of AI (Artificial Intelligence) and IoT, to a range of electronic products.

It’s also a great opportunity to experience Sharp’s other innovations.

By integrating Artificial Intelligence into electronic devices, a user’s preferences and lifestyle can be monitored, allowing the device to adapt and suggest new ways of working, making for a more personalised user-experience.

The next evolution in screen technology is the 8K monitor allowing for finely detailed ultra-high-definition images, which can presently show images at 16 times the resolution of Full HD. The Sharp LV-85001 display will show visitors to the stand computer-generated 8K-resolution video, offering them a pixel-perfect user experience.

Also on display are Sharp’s unique FFDs (Free-Form Displays) incorporating IGZO technology, which is made with artificially produced transparent crystalline oxide semiconductors. Composed of indium, gallium, zinc and oxygen, “IGZO” is a revolutionary technology that is set to open a whole new range of possibilities for the way we work and live.

Finally, making an appearance at the show is RoBoHon, the mobile robotic phone first launched back in March 2016. This innovation in robotics and the connected-world has been enhanced with a range of new applications for corporate users, particularly those in the service robot field.

Sharp has aimed the show at the consumer electronic market but the applications could readily be adapted for the office of the future, such as even more intuitive MFPs and video collaboration solutions.

If you’re attending the show, the Sharp stand can be found at Booth 3H70, Hall 3, in the Home Area. If you can’t make the show, then check out the dedicated CEATEC 2016 page.
