Sharp adds PayPal option for pay-for-print users

With the launch of Job Accounting II (v2.6) the latest version of its print management application, Sharp has increased the number of options for people who pay for their printing and copying at the device. The upgraded solution, which lets organisations including schools, universities and businesses centrally manage their Sharp MFP fleets, now offers self-service online payment via PayPal.

Job Accounting II provides an easy to use web interface that lets those needing to use a pay-for-print MFP add credit to their account in minutes using PayPal or a credit/debit card, as on many ecommerce sites. Once credit is added via the site, users can log in to their preferred printer and use their funds to copy and print. People can also instantly check their balance and view transactions via the site, without any help from administrators.

This option is ideal for colleges and universities where hundreds or thousands of students need to have an account for printing and copying. Students can add credit easily from anywhere, without an administrator needing to process payments.

Tomasz Stefanski, Solutions and Applications Specialist, said: “Charging for print usage within closed user groups or pay-for-print environments can be complicated for an organisation to manage. The integration of PayPal to Job Accounting II provides users and administrators with a secure, flexible and hassle-free top-up system.”

Job Accounting II allows schools, universities and businesses to track, record and analyse MFP use. Whether they are looking to keep track of costs, page counts or device usage, Job Accounting II puts administrators in full control with the ability to set rules, from limiting the way documents can be printed to automatically routing bigger jobs to print room devices.

Job Accounting II also provides administrators with the ability to produce detailed document management reports whenever needed, whether monthly, quarterly, annually or on demand. These detailed reports help administrators to audit all activity and measure if they are achieving their environmental, commercial and operational objectives, and advise accurately on where improvements could be made.
Job Accounting II with PayPal is available to buy now from Sharp and its partners.
