Coronavirus Contingency Plan - Update

The announcement from the Prime Minister on Monday 23rd March made it extremely clear: we all must stay at home unless it is absolutely essential for us not to.
To ensure the safety of you, your colleagues and families, our employees and the wider population, this means that from Tuesday this week until further notice all SBSUK offices are closed for all but absolutely essential work. We will be taking steps to make our premises secure and anyone who does need to attend, will follow the government's strict social distancing and hand hygiene measures.

Remote Support
Sharp Business Systems UK has a COVID-19 Business Continuity Plan to ensure we can maintain operations, service and support functions. This plan has now been executed, and for over a week more than 90% of our organisation has been home-working. This is working really well, with minimal impact to service statistics. Our service team remains operational and can continue to provide remote help-desk support via telephone and using our remote support software TeamViewer.

Our response team - made up of senior leaders and key department heads is in daily contact, and we are committed to ensuring you receive your usual level of service, while adhering to the government's guidelines.

Supporting Essential Business and Key Workers
We, like you, have an obligation to help keep those ‘essential’ businesses running and to support the key workers involved in the governments plans to help the national interest. 

From today, all service activities such as installation or on-site repair will cease, unless they are critical to the operation of customers whom we believe fall within this ‘essential’ category. We will continue to support businesses such as hospitals, care homes, doctors, schools, nurseries, communications, food supply chain, utilities etc. or, where there is a compelling case that they too support such establishments outlined in the government's latest guidance.

Getting in Touch
We ask that you continue to contact our service team via the usual channels of telephone, website and email. Your request will be triaged as normal and we will continue to support you to the best of our abilities albeit it remotely. Any face-to-face field support for non-essential business as explained above, will be postponed until such times as we are instructed it's safe for us to arrange these appointments.

Toner Deliveries and Requests
Many of our customers businesses are also closed or closing, and so any deliveries to those premises would likely fail. We don’t want our delivery drivers exposed or at risk unnecessarily and so we are holding all automatic toner orders until such time the government guidelines have changed, at which point they will be released in bulk. In the meantime please ensure you are using up any stock you hold on site before requesting more.

If you have a business critical toner request, for example a machine has stopped working and it is required, please make that request (preferably by email) to or if it's not possible to email, please telephone 0800 243 183 and as usual quoting the machine reference or serial number. In addition to this, we will also need a contact telephone number that will be answered, along with details of your office opening times. These requests will normally be limited to a single cartridge.
