What you need to know

What happens if the air humidity is too high or too low?

• Less than 30%: our resistance drops
• Less than 40%: viruses become active
• Greater than 65%: moulds becomes active

The automatic setting for the humidity percentage of the Sharp Plasmacluster air purifiers varies between 55% and 65%, depending on the temperature of the room:

• Less than 18 degrees: 65%
• Between 18–24 degrees: 60%
• Greater than 24 degrees: 55%

Asthma and COPD

We require approx. 15,000 litres of air per day, to be able to function and we can only survive without it for 3 minutes. This is why clean air undisputedly is the most important primary necessity for humans. However in Europe, the number of people with pulmonary emphysema and chronic bronchitis (COPD sufferers) is growing rapidly.

Spread of micro-organisms

When people cough about 100,000 viruses are released and when they sneeze as many as about 2.000.000! Furthermore, bacteria are mainly brought inside by people who enter a room.

In regular households, lots more moulds are present than you can see with the naked eye. Moulds cover walls and clothes and often large quantities can be found in kitchens.

Whether visible or not, a great deal of mould, bacteria and pollen also cling to our clothing. They mainly spread through the air whenever we move. In places where there is a lot of movement, there are large numbers of micro-organisms and allergens in the air.

Cigarette smoke

We all know that smoking produces various unhealthy substances, in both solid and gas forms which cling to soft furnishings and our clothes.Using the Sharp air purifier with Plasmacluster technology successfully eliminates odours associated with smoking.
